Summer Skincare Routine - Perfect Summer Skin
During the winter indoor heating and dry air means the skin needs more hydrating products and thicker moisturisers, but now that summer is on the way we might notice our skin is asking us for a little change.
With the upcoming warmer days (hopefully!) we need to adjust our skincare routine to the new challenges that summer creates.
It is important to change our skincare routine as we move through the seasons, and for summer this means adjusting to the extra heat and humidity that this time of year brings.
Bright Summer Mornings
Not only is it lighter for longer, but the sun is also stronger during the summer months.Daily sun protection is a must all year round and in summer it is essential.
Dermatologists advise using an SPF of 50 or over to provide an adequate level of protection for the skin and therefore reduce the damage that the sun can cause. Reapply it every two hours throughout the day or as often as needed.
Protecting yourself from the sun is one of the easiest and most effective ways of preventing premature ageing of the skin, but unfortunately most people do not act until the damage is done. Getting into the habit of applying SPF daily will pay dividends in years to come.
Depending on your skin type, using a good SPF in your morning routine might be enough because this can also moisturise at the same time as protecting.
